Cheapest way to send money to Pakistan from Australia
We compare the total cost — the transfer fee plus the margin each provider adds to the mid-market rate — so the figure that decides it is what actually lands in the recipient’s account.

Each row shows the provider's own advertised rate and fee for this corridor, re-collected daily, together with every provider we can verify serves this route. A provider that does not appear is one our pricing source does not carry here — we would rather list fewer than quote a service that is not offered.
Standard rates only. Several providers advertise a better rate on your first transfer, and some run limited promotions. Those are real, but they are one-off and are not what you will get on a second transfer, so they are deliberately not ranked here. If a provider's own site quotes you better than this table, a first-transfer offer is the usual reason — take it, and use this page for the transfers after it.
The margin column is each rate measured against the interbank mid-market reference shown above, so you can check it from the two numbers on this page.
- Xoom — bank deposit funded from a bank account, not a card
- Remitly — Express tier; Economy is fee-free but takes 3–5 days
- Western Union — cash pick-up; WU’s online bank deposit is fee-free above $200
- Wise — funded by bank direct debit
- Instarem — bank deposit funded from a bank account
What to watch on this corridor
Zero-fee promotions usually carry a wider rate margin, so a free transfer is not automatically the cheapest one. Cash pick-up clears faster but typically costs 1–2% more than bank delivery, and card-funded transfers add a funding fee on top of the quote shown here.
Common questions
Which provider is cheapest right now?
The one at the top of the table for the amount you entered. Ranking is by the amount your recipient receives after the fee and the provider’s rate margin, which is why the order changes as you change the amount.
Why is a zero-fee transfer not always the cheapest?
Providers can waive the fee and recover it in the exchange rate. A transfer with no fee but a 1.3% rate margin can deliver fewer rupees than one with a small fee and a near mid-market rate, so compare the received amount, not the fee.
How long does a transfer to Pakistan take?
It depends on the tier you pick, not only on the provider. Paid express tiers deliver in minutes; the fee-free economy tiers the same providers offer can take three to five business days. Cash pick-up is usually available in minutes. Weekends and public holidays in either country add a delay.
Why does the figure here differ from the provider’s own quote?
Because each provider prices along an axis a comparison table cannot show in one row: Wise charges by how you fund the transfer, Remitly by whether you choose Economy or Express, Taptap waives its fee above a threshold, and Western Union prices cash pick-up differently from a bank deposit. Each row below states which product it assumes. Treat the figures as a benchmark for choosing where to look, then take the provider’s own live quote as the price.
Does the recipient need a Pakistani bank account?
Not always. Bank deposit is cheapest, but several providers deliver to cash pick-up locations or mobile wallets. Overseas Pakistanis can also use a Roshan Digital Account, which accepts inward transfers directly.
How does FindMyExchange make money?
We earn a commission from some providers when you follow a link and complete a transfer. Ranking is calculated only from fee, rate and speed, and commission never moves a provider up the table.
